Practice Setting

• Academic-level, high-volume hospitals with teaching program
• 100% MD-only model; no CRNAs or AAs
• Cross-credentialing at 3 facilities: Long Beach Memorial, Miller Women's & Children's, and Saddleback Medical
• Over 28,000 surgical cases annually, including trauma and OB

Schedule

• Daytime shifts plus shared call (post-call day off)
• Weekday call: 1:10, weekend call: 1:5, OB call in-house
• Average 45 hours/week with 8 weeks off/year
• Minimum 1-week blocks considered; full-time preferred

Cases and Procedures

• Focus on cardiac (adult and peds), peds, OB, trauma, neuro, ortho, NORA, Endo, Cath, IR
• No chronic pain or critical care coverage
• Pediatric cases require CCS approval

Requirements

• Fellowship training in adult cardiac, pediatric cardiac, or pediatric anesthesiology
• California license required
• Board certified in Anesthesiology
• Must have ACLS, PALS, and clean background (minimal exceptions)
