This is a Medical Oncology/Hematology position designed for physicians who want autonomy, deep support resources, and the option to engage in clinical trials. Practice Overview
- You’ll join 2 Medical Oncologists plus 3 Hem/Onc-trained APCs, with full RN/MA support and scribe availability
- Community-based oncology with academic collaboration through an NCI-designated cancer center affiliate network
- Integrated cancer center resources: on-site radiation oncology, clinical trials program, tumor registry, navigators, oncology pharmacy, and lab
- Broad case mix (common to complex); BiTE therapy available; no pediatric oncology
Schedule
- Clinic hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; typical clinic schedule is 4–5 days per week
- Average clinic volume: 13–15 patients/day with ~700 analytic cancer cases annually (and growing)
- Minimal inpatient chemotherapy; average inpatient census ~6 patients/physician with 1–3 new consults/day and strong hospitalist support
- Call currently includes rotating weekday coverage and every other weekend; call burden expected to improve with the third physician
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $625,000 guaranteed for 3 years, with productivity bonus eligibility during the guarantee
- Productivity: $100 per wRVU above 6,916 annually; transition to productivity model after year three
- Incentives: $150,000 sign-on bonus, $10,000 relocation assistance, and $10,000 annual CME allowance
- Benefits: 35 days paid time off, occurrence-based malpractice with tail provided, retirement plan, health/dental/vision, disability coverage, and visa sponsorship (H-1B/J-1)
Candidate Requirements
- MD/DO; Board Eligible or Board Certified in Hematology/Medical Oncology
- U.S.-based residency and fellowship training required
- Open to experienced physicians and graduating fellows; mentorship available
- Interest in community oncology with optional research/clinical trials participation
