Practice Setting:

• Long-term care facility serving adults with dementia and psychiatric conditions
• Supported by pharmacy, rehab, psychiatry, social work, and more
• Dedicated office with computer and phone provided
• Facility currently has 3 staff physicians and 1 full-time locums

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Call is phone-only, from home, shared among 4 physicians
• Weekday call: 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
• Weekend call: 24-hour pager Sat–Mon 8:00 a.m.

Cases and Procedures:

• Medical rounds on assigned units
• Admission H&Ps, discharges, 30- and 60-day assessments
• Review of labs, imaging, and other clinical data
• Participation in care planning and family meetings

Requirements:

• MD or DO with active North Carolina license
• Board certified or eligible in Family or Internal Medicine
• BLS and DEA required
• NC Medicaid helpful (can be arranged after submittal)

Travel Accommodations:

• All-inclusive rate; candidate responsible for travel costs
• Convenient access to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU)
