A community hospital in the Mississippi Delta is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Family Medicine physician with obstetrics training or experience to join its hospital-employed practice in Indianola, Mississippi. This position combines a broad primary care practice with obstetrical care, established patient demand, and support from experienced physicians and advanced practice providers.

Practice Overview

  • Join a 49-bed general acute care hospital serving Indianola and surrounding Mississippi Delta communities.
  • Provide comprehensive primary care, including chronic disease management, acute visits, women’s health, and office-based procedures.
  • Maintain obstetrical skills, with high-risk deliveries transferred to Jackson, Mississippi
  • Participate in teaching through a regional Surgical OB Fellowship program.

Schedule & Coverage

  • Monday–Friday clinic hours, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with one half-day off each week.
  • Rotating Saturday morning coverage, 8:00 a.m.–noon.
  • Saturday coverage rotates approximately 1:4, with clinic coverage and OB backup responsibilities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $285,000 guaranteed salary
  • Current physicians are earning over $400,000 annually.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine.
  • Obstetrics training or relevant OB experience.
  • Interest in building a long-term practice and serving a community with substantial healthcare needs.
