Practice Setting
- 100% pediatric patient population
- Coverage may include the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in Arizona, plus Level 4 sites
- Annual ED volumes by campus, 75k, 55k, 30k, and a new site projected at 20k in year one
- Clinical focus includes management of critically ill neonates with neurologic, surgical, cardiac, and complex multisystem conditions
Schedule
- Combination of 7 hour, 8 hour, and 10 hour shifts
- Shift mix includes days, evenings, and minimally nights
- Weekends are part of the schedule
Cases and Procedures
- Management of critically ill neonate
- Endotracheal intubation, lumbar puncture, chest tube placement
- Umbilical arterial catheter placement, umbilical venous catheter placement
- Peripheral arterial line or stick
Requirements
- Must be an MD or DO
- Arizona medical license or IMLC
- Pediatric Emergency Medicine, board certified or board eligible within 5 years
- ATLS, BLS, DEA, PALS required
