Job Title: Emergency Department Locum Physician - Massachusetts
Dates of Coverage: June 2025, Ongoing
Shifts and Hours:
- June: Focus on night shifts, 8-10 shifts per month
- July and Ongoing: 10-12 shifts per month, covering both day and night shifts
- Flexibility required for both day and night shift coverage
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical care to patients presenting to the ED, including managing a mix of trauma and medical cases
- Supervise and collaborate with ED APPs
- Respond to house codes when required, as part of a response team (airway management)
- Adhere to hospital bylaws and respond to calls within 30 minutes
- Document patient care in Epic EMR
- Participate in patient transfers, primarily to Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center
Hospital Details:
- Trauma Level: None (Community Hospital)
- Total Beds: 44
- Annual ER Volume: 55,000
- Fast Track Services: 40% of ED Volume Treated by Fast Track
- ED Physicians: 11 total, with 5 departing
- Hospital has 24/7 Radiology, Lab, OR, and Anesthesia availability
Qualifications:
- Board Certified (ABEM/AOBEM) or Board Eligible with 5 years of residency
- Active Massachusetts medical license (required at the time of name clear)
- Local candidates within driving distance of the facility (mileage reimbursed)
- Minimum of 5 years of residency training (for Board Eligible candidates)
Credentialing & Onboarding:
- Estimated credentialing time: 4 weeks for mandatory onboarding
Certification Requirements:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Active Massachusetts License
