Retina Ophthalmology Opportunity | Lexington, Kentucky

Join an established retina-only group with a strong regional referral base and significant surgical and medical retina volume. This physician-led practice offers clinical autonomy, structured OR time, fellow-supported call, and substantial long-term earning potential.



Position Highlights

  • Join an Eight-physician retina-only group with established referral networks across 2 major markets
  • Full surgical and medical retina scope, including complex vitreoretinal cases
  • Approximately 40 intravitreal injections per day and 20 to 30 surgical cases per week
  • Retina-only 1:5 call rotation with fellows absorbing the majority of call volume
  • Typical call burden of 0 to 2 calls
  • 60 to 100 patient encounters per day per provider
  • Physician-led organization with preserved clinical autonomy

Schedule & Call

  • Choice of 4 or 5-day workweek
  • One dedicated surgical day per week with strong infrastructure support
  • Structured clinic and procedural schedule

Compensation & Benefits

  • Years 1-2 include a base guarantee of 500,000-650,000 with a 34% incentive bonus on top; verified individual annual earnings reach 1.5M-2M+ once established
  • Years 1-3+ shift to net collections model with tiered payouts of 34%, 37.5%, and then 40%, plus 25% drug margin participation
  • A $50,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are included; early commitment bonus structure is available for 2026/2027 fellows, paid monthly leading up to your start date
  • Benefits include malpractice coverage and participation in a physician-led organization with preserved clinical autonomy

Candidate Requirements

  • Retina fellowship training in surgical or medical retina required
  • Surgical comfort strongly preferred
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • 2026/2027 graduates and experienced candidates encouraged to apply
  • Must currently be located in the U.S.; J-1 and H-1B visa holders welcome
