Geriatrician - Primary Care Physician – PACE (San Diego, CA)

Imagine Seeing Only 3 to 5 Patients a Day.

No back-to-back 15-minute rushes. No assembly-line medicine. No spending your evenings finishing charts. In a typical primary care setting, time is always running out. Under the PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) model, time is finally on your side. We are seeking compassionate, patient-centered Primary Care Physicians (MD/DO) to join our San Diego clinical teams. Here, you get 45 to 90 minutes with every patient, backed by an entire team of professionals who handle the logistics so you can focus entirely on being a doctor.

Why Doctors Love Practicing Here

  • Unmatched Patient Time: See just 3 to 5 patients per day with standard appointments lasting 45 to 90 minutes. Dedicated half-day blocks are reserved for new evaluations.
  • A Panel You Can Actually Know: Capped, shared panel responsibilities paired directly with dedicated Advanced Practice Providers (NPs/PAs).
  • An Entire Team at Your Back: You are never on an island. You work side-by-side with an 11-discipline Interdisciplinary Team (NPs, RNs, Social Workers, Physical Therapists, Dietitians) who manage care coordination, home care, and transportation for you.
  • Low-Friction Call: Telephone-only, triage-filtered remote call just 2 to 3 weeks per year with a stipend. No in-person hospital visits, ER calls, or direct admissions required.
  • San Diego Lifestyle: Practice medicine in world-class coastal or East County San Diego communities with ideal year-round weather.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver primary, chronic disease, and palliative care to complex, frail seniors.
  • Daily morning interdisciplinary team huddles to coordinate participant care and review acute events.
  • Provide clinical oversight for panel participants across clinic visits, Assisted Living Facilities, and post-acute settings.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: M.D. or D.O. with an active (or eligible) California Medical License and DEA.
  • Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Clinical Focus: A passion for geriatrics, complex care, or palliative medicine. (Geriatric or Palliative fellowship/experience is a plus!)
